MAIF Promotion Policy for Martial Arts Rank

The MAIF Policy on Martial Arts Rank is not unique among traditional and ethical martial art organizations.

First of all, the MAIF is committed to providing a Rank Promotion Program that is Non-Political and is designed to ensure Proper Promotions for all MAIF members. The "Key Point" to remember is that Instructors test & promote their own students in their own particular systems. The MAIF Rank System has a solid foundation beginning at the National Level.with the International Technical Committee. The International Technical Committee has the responsibility for the over-all structuring, function, management, and administration for the MAIF Rank System and Promotion Program. Within the organizational structure, under the International Technical Committee, are the General Divisions for each Category of Martial Arts. An example of a General Division is the KARATE Division. Each style or system of Karate that is represented in the MAIF has a Sub-Committee. These Sub-Committees manage (at the National Level), the Rank Requirements, Testing Procedures, and Promotion-Administration for each of the styles or systems of Karate that are affiliated with the MAIF. Each Sub-Committee is responsible required to provide comprehensive "written" rank requirements and training guidelines for their particular style or system of Karate. In addition, the Sub-Committee is also responsible for establishing & maintaining the Testing Procedures.

The following is a partial listing examples of Sub-Committees under the MAIF International Technical Committee of the MAIF. Currently, General Divisions for the following Categories are operating in the MAIF:
